Windspeaker Radio Network operates radio stations in both Edmonton & Calgary, with repeaters covering the province of Alberta. Our audience has a huge appetite for local news and we’re searching for our next journalist.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Report live, breaking news stories as they occur in our communities.
- Source and write local news stories through established contacts and all available sources.
- Attend local meetings including Indigenous communities, municipal districts, court cases, etc. and write local news stories from the information presented at the meetings.
- Writing stories for web
- Reporting in the field as required
- Re-write appropriate regional, national news that is relevant to our local audience.
This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta. Candidates will be graduates of a recognized broadcast journalism program and/or have previous radio newsroom experience.
